Description – Food grade lecithin is obtained from various plant sources such as soya bean and sunflower. It is composed of choline, fatty acids, glycerol, glycolipids, phospholipids, phosphoric acid and triglycerides. Sunflower lecithin is not widely produced globally but is important for its non-allergen property. We offer lecithin in liquid and powder forms. We also offer de-oiled lecithin powder and fractionated lecithin – phosphatidyl choline.
Application – In foods, lecithin is used for multiple purposes, including as an emulsifier, as a wetting agent, antioxidant, for viscosity reduction, as release agents, and for crystallization control. Lecithin has functions in numerous industrial applications as well. It is used to treat a variety of memory disorders like dementia and Alziemar’s disease. It has become important as a neutraceutical / food supplement ingredient and is finding its application in lipsomal drug delivery system.
