Description – Corn Protein Hydrolysate is produced by the hydrolysis of the protein extracted from the maize. The main proteins are comprised of zeins – prolamins and storage proteins. They are used in food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and, cosmetic industry.
Application – In combination with soy protein, corn protein is used worldwide for flavoring meat products. It acts as a flavour enhancer, providing umami taste in processed, ready-to-eat, canned and frozen foods. It is also used in cosmetic formulations as a hair and skin conditioning agent.
